Things He’ll Never Know

She likes phoning her girlfriends, sleeping in on the weekends
She’d rather stay home then go out
She loves walks in the country, picnics on Sunday
I’m sure he knows all this by now
Oh but he’ll never know how with her first kiss
She burned her love right into my soul
Till his days are done, this is just one of the
Things he’ll never know

She likes movies with love scenes, wearing old blue jeans
Shopping in second hand stores
Loves reading for hours, steady rain showers
I’m sure he’s learned all this and more
But he’ll never know when he holds her at night
There’s a fool to thank for letting her go
Till his days are done, this is just another one of the
Things he’ll never know

Bridge:
Sure he knows how it feels to hold her
And all that her love really means
But he don’t know how it feels to hold her
In nothing but memories, like me

She wants someone who’ honest, lives up to the promise
He swore that he never would break
She’s been his long enough now, it’s clear he knows how
Not to make those foolish mistakes
But he don’t what it’s like watching her walk away
And there’s nothing left to do but let go
And if he don’t do what I’ve done
That’ll always be one of the
Things he’ll never know

If he don’t do what I’ve done
That’ll always be one of the
Things he’ll never know
